New figures predict future midwife crisis

According to the RCM Government targets will not be met.
if the Government is to meet its targets on maternity services in England.The birthrate has seen an increase of 12.5% since 2001 from 564,871 to 635,679 in 2006. Midwife numbers have risen by just 4.5% since 1997 from 18,053 to 18,862 in 2006.The RCM has identified
