I have been trying for a baby for 8 months. I was just reading on this site that after 12 months of trying GP does tests. It says they do a blood test & a cervil smear. Has anyone had this done & do you know what they look for? I had a smear

and the nurse told me to see my gp.  He has given me some tablets called avomine.  He told me they were safe during pregnancy.  When I got home the leaflet said not to take in pregnancy unless on dr supervision, so I googled it and the info says

your gp, he willl do a urine sample and if you have a infection he may prescribe you some medication to take. I would get it checked, just to be safe. good luckrachel xx

on the internet about thyroid problems affecting female fertility but does anyone know if this applies to men too? He is going to talk to his GP about it at his next appointment but I just wondered if anyone has first hand experience with this.Many thanks,Jo x
