can someone enlighten me as to what happens at your first midwife appointment? am just wondering as if they do a heartbeat thing then my partner will want to attend, but dont want him to miss work if its just paperwork n stuff.any help

hi iam 23+3 weeks pregnant i had a midwifes appointment today the head is in the ceph head down on my way home my back and side was in real pain it lasted about 10 mins i couldnt hardly walk i ended up on my hands and knees to ease the pain it felt
