Comfy reclining for mums-to-be

We’re loving this new invention for mums-to-be. The holo, a lilo with a hole in the middle big enough for your baby bump, enables you to lie comfortably either on the water or just watching TV in your living room!

Lying on your back in pregnancy can be dangerous not to mention uncomfortable and as your baby grows, lying on your front becomes increasingly tricky. So mum-of-two Emma Benson applied some entrepreneurial thinking to her predicament and came up with the Holo, a blow up lilo with a space for your baby bump.

Emma, 37 from West Yorkshire first dreamt up the idea when she was pregnant on holiday in Spain. Five years, and two children later, she has applied for a patent and is selling her invention on her website, HoloLilo.

It’s even finding use in healthcare circles. "We use it with nearly every pregnant patient now,” said physiotherapist Peter Mulvey. “As health care professionals, finding a comfortable position to treat pregnant women in can be difficult. The holo solves that problem easily. We can more effectively assess back pain and pelvic pain when they are on their fronts. We love it and recommend other clinics to give it a try,” Peter added.
